The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in the hospitality operations part of a cruise, as well as providing an essential understanding of elements relating to life and work on a cruise ship. As part of the course, students will be studying specialist operational elements such as front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, customer service, effective communication, essential IT skills, and accounting. Additionally, they will be introduced to the wider world of the cruise industry, its history, players, customers, regulations, concerns such as safety and security. This is a course that was designed with the help of experts from the cruise industry, thus ensuring that students will be very well prepared for their future career. Industry placement is an integral part of the programme of study whereby students will undertake a 20-week internship in a 5 Star hotel in the first year. In the second year they may apply to work on a cruise ship.
